An open-air restaurant in the heart of the forest:
Larian treasures on the table (mushrooms, truffles, chestnuts and blueberries)
Sunday 20 October an exclusive culinary experience at Costa Prada in Bellagio (Como)
Gandola (Salice Blu): “Slow start for the mushroom season due to the high temperatures, good truffle hunting instead”
Mushrooms, truffles, chestnuts, blueberries and raspberries. The treasures of the forest will be the absolute protagonists of an exclusive event, scheduled for Sunday 20 October. The hamlet of Costa Prada, in Bellagio (Como), is transformed into an open-air restaurant in close contact with nature. In the heart of the forest, surrounded by majestic trees, immersed in the silence of a fairy-tale natural setting, diners will be able to sit at the table and enjoy a lunch based on typical seasonal products, prepared for the occasion by chef Luigi Gandola of the Salice Blu restaurant in Bellagio, in collaboration with the Giarabù farm. All paired with Larian wines from Cantine Angelinetta.
Luigi Gandola explains: "Our goal is to enhance the typical products of the forest and the unique biodiversity of the Larian hinterland, inviting our guests to discover unusual flavors that are different from those we usually encounter at the table. We want to offer an immersive experience that is not limited to the dish, but that starts from nature itself. On the menu you will find chestnuts, marrons, mushrooms, truffles, berries and cheeses from the Antica Latteria Bellagio. We want to demonstrate that Larian cuisine does not stop at the specialties of the lake, but offers a much wider and more heterogeneous range of opportunities, which is linked to the roots of our tradition. Diners will have the opportunity to participate in a guided excursion in the forest, accompanied by the professional mountain guide Matteo Valli, to understand the richness of our territory up close. After lunch, it will be possible to attend a demonstration of truffle hunting, a moment of sharing that we hope will enrich the bond with tradition and respect for the nature that surrounds us."
